About Me

092a3760.jpg

Hi, I'm Emily

As a trauma therapist and Registerd Provisional Psychologist based in Calgary,

I believe we are shaped not only by what we’ve survived, but also by our capacity to heal, reconnect, and become who we’re meant to be.

Therapy, to me, is a rare kind of space — one where contradiction is welcome, where complexity is met with care, and where transformation doesn’t have to be rushed.

Ways of Working

My work is warm, relational, and grounded in nervous system–informed care. I don’t expect you to have all the answers — we start with what’s true right now, following what unfolds gently and at your pace.

Clients often tell me that in session, it’s the first time they’ve felt able to exhale. To speak what’s been silent. To feel seen — without pressure to be better, different, or “fixed.” Sometimes healing doesn’t begin with a breakthrough, but with the quiet relief of being truly met

I don’t rely on rigid protocols. Instead, I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and tailor our work to you — your nervous system, your story, and your needs.

Training and Experience

Before becoming a psychologist, I spent over a decade immersed in mental health and medical research. That work gave me a deep respect for nuance — for the ways our emotional, physical, and relational systems are interconnected.

Today, my work is shaped by both evidence-based practices and the power of human connection. My academic background includes a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Master of Science in Psychiatric Research from King’s College London, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queen’s University.

Alongside my education, I’ve completed extensive training in a range of therapeutic approaches. I’m certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Clinical Hypnosis (Levels 1 and 2), and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). My work is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ego State Therapy, Somatic Practices, and Polyvagal Theory. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy where they’re helpful, and I hold Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification.

These trainings and experiences allow me to tailor therapy to each individual, integrating approaches in a way that honours both the science and the humanity of healing.
